In the spring of 2020, Garrett Morgan Jr, known to everyone as Bam, was a high school athlete in Queens. New York kept public school sports shut while private and parochial teams kept playing, and he lost his season. He repeated his senior year at a military academy upstate, graduated from LaGuardia Community College, and heads to Howard University next. On the first anniversary of 15 DAYS, Bam joined me and our cinematographer and co-producer Stephanie Edmonds to talk about what the closures took from him and what he wants adults to remember.
Thank you Lisa Novakowski, Ingrid Capozzoli Flinn, Amber, and many others for tuning into my live video with Stephanie Edmonds and Garrett Morgan Jr! Join me for my next live video in the app.
