When teachers don't know history, students have no hope.

Can we acknowledge the irony of Bezmenov's interview occuring in 1984?

Our school dropped Friday night movie nights. Eventually they tried to reinstitute them on Saturdays at noon. Not the same! For my kids, it was a fun and exciting evening out.

People with ill intent thrive on the ignorance of those they wish to manipulate. By ignorance, I don't just mean the absence of knowledge, but the absence of truth. Many believe things that are simply false, sometimes only false by a few degrees.

That is why as a semi-retired person I volunteer as a docent at a historic site which still gets 4th grade field trips to learn about State history and have become much more active in a few national, multi-state and local orgs deep into public education of USA history. If we all just become active in one of those groups… it’s a step forward or at least holding the line.

I see the elderly man in your Ellis Island photo in a NPS uniform serving as an interpretive ranger. Most historic sites are begging for volunteer docents.

No excuses fellow USA citizens, we are in the middle of a massive fight to preserve our deepest values… while the majority of our children are in public schools which have become like Red China Struggle Session indoctrination camps of insanity and cult zealotry. Buy good books to support good authors. Volunteer somewhere. Do something: one person, one place, one book at a time.
