NHJ is playing the "victim" role to the max. Blacks are controlled by both white elites AND Black elites to keep control over the majority of unaware Black people by brainwashing them to believe that they are victims of white society. NHJ tried to raise her daughter in the victimhood belief but it appears to me that thankfully she failed at it. Despite ten years of "substandard education" (according to BOTH NHJ and her daughter), her daughter somehow managed to state her feelings and beliefs eloquently, even zeroing in on why it happened. Our brains have neuroplasticity and this girl has every chance to make up for her perceived poor education by just applying herself and taking advantage of every bit of help that her mother is quite able to afford.

The daughter learned much more in her schools than she realizes. The mother got an education for herself in the end.

NHJ’s daughter is “recovering.” What a great story she will tell. Harvard or Yale? She’ll be accepted everywhere she applies. NHJ provides the cover.

Reading the posts was sad. Great people who think learning matters. Our elites in education know better. It’s the credential baby!!

The latest quote from the NYT says it perfectly, to paraphrase: the University of California is succeeding because it graduates people who don’t know math.

This is what NJH knows and her daughter is now smiling. Life is good!

Cudos to Najya for speaking up!

NHJ is not alone in sacrificing her child's well-being for The Cause. One of my friends, when his socialist parents were postdocs at Caltech, was sent to Pasadena's public school where he was constantly harassed by little thugs -- his lunch money being taken away, etc. And of course the level of instruction was really bad. Luckily, it was only a couple of years, so he could recover from that involuntary equity experience. Now imagine how much empathy the strangers can expect from the people who do not even have empathy for their own children.

One word: narcissist. This woman is a total narcissist and a fraud, trying to take down a system for her own self-aggrandizement. Narcissists use their children as props and she's still doing it. Narcissists lie and gaslight and the so-called1619 project was narcissistic abuse on a grand scale. It makes sense she would sacrifice her child to further herself because that's what narcissists do.

Natalya Murakhver's avatar

It is a tragedy because, not only does she sacrifice her own child to her ideology, her activism has outsize influence on all of our children and society.

I'm in the UK, so do not know a lot about this story – but the oversight you highlight is so important. The world is full of mothers prepared to sacrifice their children, to a greater or lesser degree, in order to live in alignment with a cause or belief system which is evidently more important to them. As a therapist working in schools, I quickly saw the results of this. It is profoundly damaging for children – the one person who should have put them first, or protected them, chose not to do that. That's quite something to come to terms with.

Natalya Murakhver's avatar

NHJ's willingness to forsake her child is somewhere on the same continuum of child sacrifice, starting with sacrificing children to ideology and ending somewhere near the Hades of Lindsay Clancey, where she literally murders her children and then becomes an ideological figure that other deluded women (some are moms, too!) worship and follow...

Amen 🙏🏼♥️

Thank you!

This was a disgusting act. She deliberately sabotaged her own child’s education to further her own selfish political ends. Child services should have been called because she used her child as a political prop and totally ignoring the needs of her daughter. Worse, had she had any real care or concern for her daughter, she should have realized that her daughter was not learning anything in school!! That means she paid no attention to her daughter’s homework or schooling!! So its not just that she’s a racist and a failed historian -- or whatever she pretends to be -- but she totally failed as a parent on the most basic level. What a waste of protoplasm. Disgusting!!

Natalya Murakhver's avatar

Her whole foundation is rotten. She could never build anything on it, it simply will not hold. And to this day, no real lessons learned.

Sad.

Leslie Deak's avatar

So true -- same with Kendi, but at least he had the sense not to publicize his inadequacies in his personal life. Seriously, how stupid do you have to be to publicize such a HUGE and OBVIOUS parenting failure! I'm just so sorry for her kid, who's clearly much smarter than her parents!

Natalya Murakhver's avatar

It is the ultimate virtue signal du jour - child sacrifice...

Scott M's avatar

She did it so she could write about it, get attention and $$$

Natalya Murakhver's avatar

So by that metric alone, she is a huge success.

We just learned that the red states are outpacing the blue in reading scores, the teacher's union being the common denominator. And the highest score is a deep red, deep south state. Imagine that. Because teachers are not just fighting for wages, but for propaganda.

I have seen this scenario before. Even Howard Stern talked about being sent to an all black school because of his parents. One woman online let herself be blackmailed into not protecting her daughter who was going cross country, because some stranger on the internet told her black kids have to worry. That was during the riots for St George.

Religious people do it, too. And then give their kids Kool aid for the cause. Granted, many were forced, but none were forced to join.

Natalya Murakhver's avatar

How many children are being groomed into the trans cult, with their parents' consent for similar reasons?

Gigi Wolf's avatar

All for the sake of a virtue signal. Echh. Charlize Theron is a horrific example.

How is it possible that NHJ had no idea of what was happening to her daughter in school? Was she paying no attention to her at all? Going over her homework with her? I think this tells you a lot about who NHJ is. The ideology is more important than the reality , especially of her daughter. She is someone who created notoriety she did not deserve , promoted by the NYT.

TES's avatar

She was too busy with her racist 1619 project trying to tear down the USA to do the most important job we ever do.

Natalya Murakhver's avatar

Exactly- NHJ's fame is more like notoriety.

Stosh Wychulus's avatar

I think she’s well past her sell by date. I still don’t get how both she and her husband were not aware of what was going on for her daughter. That’s more revealing than the grandious , sanctimonious belief that enrolling HER daughter would improve the school. There’s serious parental disengagement going on , maybe even emotional distancing ; a lot more going on here.

What bothers me the most is NYC has the perfect example of how to design a public school that elevates scholastic performance among low income kids - it’s called Success Academy (https://www.successacademies.org/). Yet Jones doesn’t even mention it, and, rather, has been among the progressives supporting the teachers union trying to stymie its existence at every turn. These people do not care about kids.

Natalya Murakhver's avatar

Kids are pawns to them. Look, she admits that about her own daughter. Horrible!

Pablo de los Heros's avatar

The daughter of NHJ was enrolled in P.S. 307 (Elementary) which spends up to $43,972.00 per student.

And these people have the balls to say they need more money.

The schools are run by nearly 100% black democrats and yet they blame racism.

Natalya Murakhver's avatar

I wouldn't go so far as to say that these schools are run by black democrats. I think white people (especially women) have more than enough to answer for.

Pablo de los Heros's avatar

You may be right. There may well be some white women on the board. However, in my experience, some of the most troubling examples of the soft bigotry of low expectations come from well-meaning individuals who adopt a condescending, paternalistic attitude toward minorities. Under the guise of compassion, they risk lowering academic standards rather than demanding that every child receive the rigorous education they deserve.

Cassandra anonymous's avatar

NHJ and her partisans fight against education as it stands in the way of their power. The vile distortion of the 1619 project it seems is not her main contribution to the anti-civilizational battle.

Cassandra anonymous's avatar

When no one is educated there will be no one to stand up to the socialist expropriators with facts and justice. NHJ is fighting for the end of western civilization and is willing to sacrifice her own children (not to mention yours) to get there.

Natalya Murakhver's avatar

She isn't just willing to sacrifice our kids, she appears on a mission to do so!

Bootsorourke's avatar

It’s awful Jones’ daughter’s homework was not ever checked by the teacher. It’s also a shame that Jones never checked her daughter’s homework else she would have seen problems with problems. Sad to think that with no adults checking on the girls’ progress, she may have fallen through other neglect cracks.

Here’s a big question: how did Jones think that the mere presence of high income children would make the system better? How does that make any sense?

iMHO, it’s not students with more money or schools with more money but schools with standards for the teachers to meet and resources to help them meet them.

Cassandra anonymous's avatar

I am desperately sorry for the girl, who, thankfully, seems to be able to stand up for herself. Awkward question—where was her Dad in all of this?

Colagirl's avatar

Main character syndrome.

Natalya Murakhver's avatar

Unfortunately the schools you speak of, those with standards for teachers to meet and resources that help students thrive are a dying breed.

Actually they are not dying, they are being murdered by the teachers unions.

Pablo de los Heros's avatar

The daughter of NHJ was enrolled in P.S. 307 (Elementary) which spends up to $43,972.00 up to 50k per student.

And these people have the balls to say they need more money.

The schools are run by nearly 100% black democrats and yet they blame racism.

Cassandra anonymous's avatar

And values in the family that prioritize education vs meeting one’s needs through violence and victimhood guilt extortion, the blank-slatist Achilles heel of liberal society.

Bootsorourke's avatar

Well said. And so true. The dept of Ed is all red tape and no benefit too

My parents first chose to sell the house they bought and buy a new (older) less finished less ready to live in one in the right school district so I was not on a bus to school for an hour each way each day. That can't have been a cheap decision. It was a decision that benefitted both me and my sister and ultimately them because that house is still the more desirable home.

They then chose which of the two high schools I should go to. Not because it was the 'best' school but because it was the best for how I learned.

Natalya Murakhver's avatar

Because they were good and responsible parents who put their own children first. As it should be, always.
