Today we're releasing exclusive clips from our long-awaited documentary 15 DAYS — and the star of these clips will break your heart and inspire your hope.
Garrett "Bam" Morgan should have been suiting up for college football this fall. Instead, he's wielding a gavel as student body president at his community college, channeling his leadership skills into a different kind of victory.
Picture this: You're 17 years old, a standout high school football player in a New York City public high school. College scouts are starting to notice. This should be your moment to shine, to earn that scholarship that could change your life forever.
Then the world stops.

When COVID hit, NYC public schools shuttered their sports programs while private and parochial schools kept playing. For kids like Bam, it wasn't just a season that was lost—it was a future. No games meant no scouts. No scouts meant no scholarships. The disruption lasted over a year, and by the time sports resumed, Bam had gained weight, lost momentum, and watched his window of opportunity slam shut.
The young man who once commanded the football field chose to repeat his senior year at an upstate military academy before eventually landing at community college.
Today, at nearly 21, Bam Morgan isn't bitter—he's shining. His natural charisma and leadership abilities now make him his community college student body president. His dreams have evolved from the NFL to grad school, from touchdowns to politics. And we believe he's going to be incredible at whatever he chooses.
But the question that haunts our documentary remains: What did those closures really take from our kids?
At one of our first meetings with him, at our Restore Childhood launch party, Bam shared something profound that still gives us chills: "The best way to get a gun out of a kid's hand is to put a ball in it." He understands what sports mean to young people—especially in communities where opportunities are already scarce.
Stephanie and I first met Bam on April 7, 2022, when he was just 17. He was the very first student we interviewed for this documentary, sitting in the AboutU training gym where we filmed that day.
Watch the exclusive clips above to see Bam tell his story in his own words—including his powerful insights about sports, opportunity, and what we really lost during the closures.
Bam Morgan's individual triumph doesn't erase the pain of the union-led school closures that robbed him—and thousands of other kids—of their shot. His story is a testament to the human spirit, but it's also an indictment of policies that treated children- and their dreams as expendable.
Mark your calendars: Tuesday, September 23rd at 8:15 PM EST on X. For one week only, you'll have exclusive access to the full documentary that we've poured our hearts into creating.
If these exclusive clips moved you, wait until you see the complete film.
Bam Morgan's story will stay with you long after the credits roll. It's a story about loss and resilience, about systems that failed and spirits that wouldn't break, about a young man who refused to let a stolen year steal his future.
